Everything we get asked, answered.
Pricing, timelines, ownership, platforms, support — the questions buyers actually want answered before sending an enquiry.
Working with the studio
Who actually does the work?
Jesse Thomson — founder, Webflow Certified Expert and FlutterFlow developer. The studio is intentionally small so the person you brief is the person who builds. For larger projects (marketplaces, apps), trusted collaborators are brought in and named up-front.
Do you work with clients outside Australia?
Yes. NZ, the UK, Europe, North America and Singapore are all active. Async-first workflow makes time zones a logistical detail, not a blocker. See how international work runs.
Are you on retainer or per-project?
Both. Most engagements start as a fixed-scope project and move into a retained partnership at launch. Pure project work is also fine — there's no obligation to stay on.
How do we communicate?
Mostly async — Loom for visual updates, Notion for scope and decisions, Slack or email for day-to-day. Scheduled calls happen weekly or fortnightly for decisions that need a real conversation.
Pricing & investment
What does it cost to build a website?
Launch tier from $4,900 + GST (small-business sites). Growth from $9,800 (where most clients land). Scale projects quoted per scope. Full pricing.
Why scope-based pricing instead of hourly?
Hourly rewards slow work and punishes efficient work. Scope-based puts the risk on us to estimate well and gives you a real number before anything starts.
Are there hidden costs?
No. The quote is the quote. Third-party costs (domains, hosting, paid plugins, premium fonts) are listed separately and stay in your name.
Do you offer payment plans?
Standard structure: 40% to start, 40% at design sign-off, 20% at launch. Larger projects split across more milestones.
Timelines & project process
How long does a typical website take?
Launch tier: 4–6 weeks. Growth tier: 6–10 weeks. Larger projects and apps span 10–20+ weeks depending on complexity.
What slows projects down?
Content. Most delays come from waiting on copy, images or stakeholder sign-offs. We'll flag this early and offer copywriting / imagery as part of scope if you'd rather not source it yourself.
Can you do rush projects?
Sometimes. Rush projects cost more because they push other work and require concurrent milestones. We'll be honest if the timeline isn't realistic.
Websites — platforms & ownership
Webflow vs WordPress — which is right for me?
Webflow for design-led marketing sites, clean CMS, fast loading and easy editing without breaking the layout. WordPress for content-heavy publications, advanced ecommerce (WooCommerce), or where you have an existing plugin investment. We'll recommend based on your actual needs.
Do I own the website?
Yes — fully. All accounts are in your name, all IP is yours, and you can leave any time. Real handover is part of how we work.
Where will the site be hosted?
Webflow sites use Webflow hosting (AWS-backed, global CDN, automatic SSL). WordPress sites use managed hosting we recommend (or your existing host if preferred). Hosting accounts are always in your name.
Can I edit the site myself after launch?
Yes. Training is included and we structure the CMS so the team can update content without breaking layouts. Loom training videos are kept for reference.
Mobile apps
Why FlutterFlow over native development?
One codebase that ships to both iOS and Android — typically 50–70% faster to build and cheaper to maintain than native. Performance is excellent for the vast majority of app use-cases. We'll be honest if your specific app needs native instead.
Do you handle App Store and Google Play submission?
Yes — including the developer account setup, app icons, screenshots, store listings and submission. Both reviews typically pass first time.
What backend do FlutterFlow apps use?
Firebase by default — auth, Firestore database, cloud functions, storage. Can also integrate with existing REST/GraphQL APIs if you already have a backend.
eCommerce
Shopify, Webflow or WooCommerce?
We build in Webflow Ecommerce or WooCommerce depending on requirements. Both handle Stripe checkout, inventory and shipping cleanly. Shopify is great too — happy to refer if it's the right call.
Can you build multi-vendor marketplaces?
Yes — see the O.N.O Rural case study. FlutterFlow + Firebase or WordPress + WooCommerce Multivendor depending on whether you need a mobile app component.
Support & partnership
What's included in ongoing support?
Managed hosting, security patches, performance monitoring, backups, and a monthly allocation of improvement hours. From $280/mo. See tiers.
What if something breaks?
Retained clients get priority response (under 4 business hours). Non-retained clients get standard turnaround (1–3 business days) at our fair hourly rate.
Can I leave the partnership?
Any time, 30 days notice. You keep everything — site, accounts, code where applicable.
Just ask.
Quickest way to get a real answer is a short message — no follow-up sequences.
